Crazy Boston, interested citizens love to go out and play when there is no political capital at risk. Vi and attended many protests when he lived here and saw firsthand the energy is filtered out before death, before the start of the Iraq war. However, convictions are the only street theater to someone else ... and with respect to the latter, Boston never fails to deliver.
Walking through the city yesterday, eager to see the end of the North, with an unobstructed view (I left Boston, before the road was completely sent underground), the noise made so soft but easily Congress Street. When I approached, details became clear, as the shrill cries of a woman on the sidewalk in front of Faneuil Hall, "If you want socialism, go to China!" ... although the local accent brought it closer to the "China-er".
This is the Boston has to do when visiting, if only once. Of course, Boston has a long history of both civil disobedience and hostile, since the launch of tea in the harbor for transport to the scandals of the 1970s and beyond. What I found yesterday, is an essential flavor of the city and should remain well above Fenway Park in any itinerary.
