Nine minutes duet with Beyoncé and is being promoted by some as a successor to Michael Jackson's Thriller

With some grumbling, thongs, heavy product placement and a huge amount of propaganda, the 21st century take on feminism and social commentary came this week with video of Lady Gaga and Beyonce duet, Telephone. Within 12 hours of video available on the internet that had half a million hits and nearly as many blogs enthusiastically dissecting the possible meanings behind the nine-minute video.

It is being promoted by some as the successor to Michael Jackson's Thriller, Telephone Gaga continues the tradition of raising their songs with clever videos. This time, she and the director Jonas Akerlund has created a blend of Russ Meyer, Quentin Tarantino, Thelma and Louise and the brief imprisonment of Paris Hilton to make a film about lesbian murderers, established in the letter from a woman complaining about people calling her in a nightclub.

While Beyonce is clearly the most talented, his brand of sensuality is dated with Gaga. Bloggers have been making out the meaning behind the sunglasses made of cigarettes, but could very well try to decipher the dress once used Gaga fact Kermit the frogs she does because it is fun.

Gaga, never reluctant to attribute his deepest work that others can see the underside, said that the meaning of the video comes from "the idea that America is full of young people who are awash in information and technology." His intention, therefore, was to "make it something that was more of a commentary on the kind of country we are."

To
Forget the outrage, just enjoy it
Some taboos are still alive and kicking. Lady Gaga and prison Beyonce "Lezza-exploitation" video has caused outrage as it does with Butch dykes, girls with dicks, hot female prison guards browsing lesbian dating sites - Oh, and a little mass murder.

Early in the video is a scene in the prison yard with a lesbian snog between a lesbian in leather and Lady Gaga, who is wearing a pair of sunglasses from cigarette burns. It's hard to know what they are shocked the first time. The answer is no - the answer is simply to enjoy it.

It's a cross between Tenko, Prisoner Cell Block H, a ghetto girl Malory Towers and Thelma and Louise, as re-imagined by David Lachapelle and Betty Paige, only this time our heroines do not have to die. On the contrary, unity in the sunset at the Beyonce "pussymobile" after Beyonce has returned to her (presumably) lover and said: "You have been a very, very bad girl, Gaga.

Women in prison exploitation films began in the 1950s thanks to the influence of pulp magazines and films like caged So Young So Bad. But unlike them, no men in this sadistic guards. While there are scenes mandatory, as the search for Gaza ( "I told you I had a dick," one of the guards) and the cat fight with the bee Queen band leader, the girls are doing for themselves.

It's a silly, sexy, funny film with a song about the nightmare of having a mobile phone, mounted with the product placement of company logo on the screen phone Gaga cans of Diet Coke in her hair rollers , and feels very Zeitgeisty - a huge fantasy of female power. These are not only difficult, but Hot Chicks drive that can take care of themselves - as Trudy Chacon in Avatar, the cute American helicopter pilot, which is the type of person who wants to care for you if you're in a lost crazy sci - fi jungle.

In terms of "all girls together" video reminded me of Britney Spears' One More Time, only Lady Gaga has moved beyond the lame message back to yourself in a student Lolita, and has instead decided to make the world completely lesbians - and well on her and her sisters in their bikinis tattooed leather, traveling the world to avenge the wrong crowd.

Against
The same boring old sexism
Say what you like about Lady Gaga - everyone else - but when it comes to color and controversy undoubtedly offers. She appeared in the lobster-shaped hats, shoes seem armadillos, dancing in a white latex catsuit in Romance video Bad. She is regularly seen wandering with a porcelain tea cup and saucer in small hand apropros of nowhere (the latter is no less irritating affectation).

What we have now is a cartoon-ish explosion of sex and violence. It begins with Gaga being taken to a women's prison, headed past bra wearing, tattoo-covered inmates, writhing against the doors of their cells - and pausing from time to time (like you) to lick the bars . Gaga is wearing a low cut dress, and when she throws in his cell, which is stripped of the guards, revealing a pair of fishnet stockings and black plasters on your nipples.

When the cell door closes, it throws against him, and though his pubis is pixelated, the appropriation of the screen allows you to rebuke those tired old rumors of hermaphroditism. "I told you I had a dick," says a guard. "Very bad," says another.

Do not go kissing lesbians, a mass poisoning, and an act of marriage to Beyonce - the two go on a spooky car dubbed the "pussy wagon". Gaga has apparently said that the video was inspired by the work of Quentin Tarantino, but the references after arriving back to the 1960s exploitation films of Roger Corman and Russ Meyer's Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!.

These references coat the entire video in a slippery film of irony, and make the whole enterprise seems always funny and sometimes ridiculous. But also, curiously, a little boring. Because if there's one thing we've seen a thousand times in recent decades, is old-style sexism disguised as a new style irony. The fact that Gaga seems to be a knowing wink to the camera as she dances in a bikini that vision is less predictable, less boring, less reminiscent of sexist sexist video after video I've seen in recent years? Nope.

It is disappointing for someone who seems to be emerging with many ideas. Gaga will do something great, I'm sure. But that's not all.
