Apple through the Apple II, he served as a gateway to information for me, my third grade class had two Apple IIs perfectly hidden in cases of locking metal. With them, I was exposed to word processing, printing and, most importantly, Carmen Sandiego.
Education is deeply rooted in the spirit of Apple. During his speech at Macworld 1997 - where he made his return - Steve Jobs, in a not so discreet, said that "Apple is the largest education company in the world" and that this provided the company "an incredible base.. . And the legacy to build. " This legacy lives on, like Apple, through its stores, offers a variety of ways to teach children and expose them to information technology and content creation.
Last week, Apple opened registration for spring field trips to retail stores. Breaking with the tradition that students should bring apples to their teachers, Apple offers a way for teachers to their students to the Apple store ... that's all. During these field trips, K-12 students can create a variety of digital art: a photo album using iPhoto, video editing using iMovie, or a song in GarageBand, among them. When completed, students can share their creations with others in the store. Now that is a class act.

Field trips to the Apple store is offered every fall and spring, and registration is open for daytime events of the week February 22 to May 1. Apple says the tours are limited to 25 students (if more, you can make arrangements with the shop), and can last between one hour and 90 minutes.
Unlike field trips, in which adults through grade 12 may participate, Apple Youth Workshops are aimed at a younger audience and for specific applications. Children 6 to 13 can participate in workshops where you can work on photos, music, movies, and even presentation skills. You can check that the workshops are offered in a special tent in the Apple Workshop for Youth. From my checks from several stores in California, there was no upcoming workshops scheduled at this time.
Finally, there is no Apple Camp. As the workshops Youth Apple, Apple Camp is aimed at younger audiences (8 to 12 years old). The campers get to make movies of iPhoto books together and writing songs at the Apple store. At day's end, memories are a spiffy free t-shirt and a DVD of his creations. The Apple site is not Camp, but Apple says it will open the record from May.
